Fiona Feist

Fiona is currently the Executive Business Manager for the School of Veterinary and Life Sciences and has been at Murdoch University since 2001. In her role she provides high level contributions to the administrative, resource and business planning activities of the School, and contributes to the overall governance. She works closely with the Dean and School Executive Team to development and implement the Schools strategic and operational plan to enable the School to deliver the highest quality academic and research programs.

Fiona has just completed a 6 month interim role as Academic Registrar. In this role, she was responsible for Academic Registrar’s Office, which provides student-facing services and administration, and support services to academic staff.

Prior to this Fiona was Manager of the Finance Support Team which provided financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial processing to the Academy and Professional Services at Murdoch University. In her fifteen years at the university she has worked in a diverse range of roles including Project Manager for a National Literacy and Numerary Research Project with Department of Education and Training, Implementation Coordinator for Murdoch’s major administrative change project and Business Manager in the Finance Office for both Professional Service offices and Academic schools.

Fiona’s well rounded experience at Murdoch includes supporting Academic staff in research and teaching, working with schools, offices and research centres to coordinate and manage finances, human resources, academic business cases and administrative processes.

In 2012, Fiona became a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and in 2017 completed a Master of Business Administration. These qualifications, coupled with her extensive work experience at Murdoch, terms on the University’s Senate and Academic Council give Fiona a profound understanding of Murdoch’s academic, research and administrative mechanisms and governance.

Fiona’s community work includes membership of the Rossmoyne Primary School Board and committee member of All Saints’ College Basketball Club. In 2017, Fiona received a Recognition of Service Award for her 6-year contribution to Rossmoyne Junior Football Club as merchandise manager and committee member.
