Mr Glen Kelly

Glen Kelly

Glen Kelly is the CEO of the National Native Title Council and formerly the CEO of the South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council, the native title representative body for the South West of WA. A Nyungar man from the lower south west of WA, Glen has more than 20 years' experience in Aboriginal Affairs, Native Title and Indigenous Land Management at local, national and international levels. This experience has included advocacy, policy development, research and the negotiation of substantial native title agreements.

Graduating from Murdoch University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Environmental Science Degree, Glen has held a number of senior positions in Indigenous organisations, both as a director and manager, as well as positions within government agencies. Glen has also sat on a number of high level committees and statutory authorities at State and Commonwealth levels relating to Indigenous land interests and currently sits on the Board of Reconciliation Australia.

Glen's ethos for Indigenous advancement is about creating opportunity – socially, culturally, politically and economically, and this is the principle around which his work has been constructed. He is of the view that Indigenous culture contains many insights and values that will be of benefit to West Australian society at large, particularly those that are around caring for country and the sustainable development and the land itself.

Glen is committed to advancing opportunities for Indigenous education, and looks forward to a time where a substantial Indigenous and Noongar academia can provide their insights to broader society.
